My goal as a therapist is to help people reach their goals and create pathways for positive change. As a teenager, I always knew I wanted to help people. I was always a member of different groups/organizations that focused on giving back. I fell in love with supporting people and helping individuals find their way to reach their goals. I am from a small town in Mississippi with limited resources, and this background has helped me learn how to pivot and use many different avenues to meet people’s needs. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health from Mississippi State University, a national CACREP accredited institution. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Registered Associate Counselor working towards licensure (LPC). I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help individuals see the world in multiple lenses; Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to help individuals process how their view of self/the world has been affected due to trauma; and Gestalt Therapy to help individuals focus on the “here and now” and their ability to create change in their current circumstances. I am passionate about Minority Mental Health and work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, mood/personality concerns, trauma, eating concerns, and relationship/communication issues. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends/family, watching movies, and walking my dog.
